The Legion of Mary was founded in the United States in 1931. The Legion is an organization for lay people in the Catholic Church. The members consist of Men, Women and Children. Today, there are nearly three million members that not only serve in the United States but around the world. The Legion of Mary at Sacred Heart is under the leadership of Tommie Page.
Frank Duff founded the Legion of Mary based on a purpose that the organization would give Glory to God through the works of Mercy by their members. The Legion Mary does works of mercy such as evangelization, visiting fellow parishioners, visiting the sick or elderly, participating in religious education and devotion to the Blessed Mother.
